Another oldie for Friday.............................

a quick post before heading out to work.................

This is the Easter card I made for a friend in 2011..............

I covered the card blank with 'Spring-like' paper added a couple of silk flowers and a brad from my stash and coloured the peel-offs to co-ordinate................

I think this was possibly the last time I coloured peel-offs!!

I'm sure they will have there day again - and being the proverbial crafter who doesn't like to waste anything - I still put a peel-off on my envelopes for those I hand out eg butterfly peel-off where the stamp would go if I were posting it..............................

it least it is helping the stash of peel-offs go down.....................slowly!!

Have a lovely weekend and hopefully the weather will continue to be kind for us, and as always thanks for popping by, whether you leave a comment or not it is good to see that people take time out of their daily happenings to take a peek.

Another male card..........................

I showed a card that I made for my FIL on my blog 24th August, and said I was scratching my head as I had to make another male card in a hurry.......................

it was suggested that I make the same card again but unfortunately it was for the OH - so he had seen the card that I had made for his Dad!!...............

so here is what I came up with................................

a grungy looking card, which I know not everyone likes but I must say I do rather like making this style of card for the male of the species..............................

it also means that you can get away with any little mistakes.................................

the hanger for the sign was off set with a soft gold card to give definition................

Ingredients used:-

Tim Holtz 'Hanging Sign' Bigz Die
SU Gorgeous Grunge Stamps
Stamps Away Montage Stamps
SU Tiny Tags Dies
SU Tiny Tags Punch
Paper Clay heart (Lakeland Plastic's Mould)
Archival Coffee Ink
Vintage Photo DI
Inka Gold Wax (Lava Green)
Burlap String
CE Black Pearls

plus lots of distressing, inking and waxing..........................
(wax on - wax off) lol.........................

I really enjoyed making this card - once I got the idea in my head (that unfortunately is the problem - getting the idea in the first place)........................the OH appreciated it, so I suppose that is all that matters..................

I hope you like it too.

A bit late .....................

oldie for Friday......................

I have been trawling through my PC card file to see if there is anything worth showing from a few years ago and thought I would share these with you....................

the card was made with centura pearl card which I scored into an A5 card and used a score board to edge the card..............the daisy and large yellow brad were from my stash and the stalk for the daisy is from Craftwork Cards and I wrote the details of the Christening date etc on it.................

the ribbon was actually re-used from the Christening invite and the embellishment was made by stamping onto clear plastic square and then colouring the square with alcohol inks.................

insert from one of Crafters Companion CD's - sorry not sure which one as it was made in 2011.........

to finish off I customised a gift bag with 'rub-ons' for the name and a small daisy flower for the dot over the 'i'.........................

Sorry the photos aren't amazing but it was purely for me to refer back too, as when I made these I didn't even know that blogs existed!!

Well I am not sure what happened to the sun we were promised for this afternoon - it is still grey and damp but warm - very weird.

Just got back from a walk with the granpuppy and daughter and was clammy as I had gone out in a fleece and walking coat and ended tying the coat around my waist as I was far too warm.

Not really complaining about the temperature though - just want to see a bit more of the yellow ball before the autumn really kicks in - lots of leaves on the ground now so only a matter of time.

Have a lovely weekend, whatever you are doing.

Oldie for Friday........................

not a project or card but hopefully coming to a project or card sometime soon!!.........................

I made these a good while ago, possibly 18mths/2years ago after watching a demo on TV and never found anything to use them on - they are a little deep to put on cards to post out - but maybe I will trim a box up with them - along with all the other crafty things I have in mind to do......................in theory it is great,  putting it into practice is a different ball game as I'm sure a lot of you will agree...........

anyway here they are.............

'Carnations'

                                                                                                         'Rose Buds'

                                                                                              'Not Sure'

All of the above were made using SB Blossom Five - and to think when I bought it, I never thought I would use it, that was until I saw the demos.  It came in a bundle of dies, which is how I ended up with it  - just goes to show - never judge a book by its cover and all that.

The carnations were made by spritzing with water and scrunching and adding DI's to the edges.

I also used the DI's on the Rose Buds and the 'Not Sure' flowers, the plain one was made with Centura pearl card so didn't ink that as it would have just rubbed off.  Depending on the amount of ink you use gives a different finish.

My latest fad is making hatpins - I made twelve on Tuesday night and another four last night - now just have to photo them to put on the blog - I have really enjoyed making them and really chuffed how they have turned out.

Another beautiful day here and another fab walk with the Granpuppy tonight, just feel so lucky that we can still walk out without jackets and fleeces, but I know it won't last so making the most of it.

Thanks for popping by

Some more grey......................................

this is a felt bag I bought from the craft shop where I used to do a weekly class - I only went for a few months before she closed it down as it wasn't keeping busy enough......................bit of a vicious circle I think as she didn't have much stock so when customers came in for things she was always saying she didn't have it..............................so no purchase =  no money to buy stock - not easy I'm sure but they do very well at craft shows so decided to put all their efforts into that and closed the shop down last year.....................................

Anyway I'm glad I managed to buy this as I haven't seen one anywhere else and although I have had it for a while now, I only decided to trim it up a couple of months ago, so here goes.................

I decided to transpose the colours of the flowers on the reverse of the bag...................................

Ingredients used:-

Craft shop purchase felt bag
SB Floret Dies
SB Foliage Dies
Felt from Creative Studios
Gems coloured with Promarkers to co-ordinate

Something a little different and hopefully you like.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who visits and leaves such encouraging comments and also to those who just visit - like Patricia (Summerhouse) says when you look at the page views it sometimes amazes me that so many people take the time to visit but understand that if we commented on each and every one we could make a full time living out of it - I comment on the majority of sites I visit but not all as I would be permanently glued to the screen!!

Anyway bye for now - I am determined to find something to put on Oldie Friday this week as I have not participated for a few months........................so watch this space!!

Grey & White....................

a bag and a card to match (for my collection) so if I ever need anything like this at short notice - I am prepared!! (as if)!!!!

the reverse side of the bag................................

now I would like to say that I did the reverse bag on purpose but oh no - I reversed the paper when I cut the second piece (thinking I was being clever)!! but no.................

I have to say though that I like how it turned out and I made to tags with both sides of the paper to match.........

I am also really pleased with the card as I had no idea where I was going with it but just wanted to play and use the emboss folder..........................

made these with offcuts of the paper and can be added to the bag or card depending whether it is a male or female recipient............................

I have to say a big THANK YOU to Hazel (Baskets of Joy) as she has this die and I really liked what she made with it so she gave me the information along with a tip re:  cutting it out as I was finding that it was cutting through part of the score lines (tip was to add copy paper) worked a treat - Thanks Hazel and Patricia (Summer House Crafts)
