Not what was first intended.....................

I started by embossing a card blank and swiping it with Archival ink to catch the raised areas and coloured the background with DI but then realised that the ink had seeped through to the back of the card - so I cut the front of the card blank down to make a topper....................

I embossed some CE Teal foundation card with the same embossing folder and matched the pattern up before layering onto a new, larger card blank................................

I used some CE Iced Snow on the dazzler to tone the colour down a little.......................

CE Teal card used again to create a shadow behind the sentiment........................

Ingredients used:-

SW Rambling Blossom E/F
LeCrea Daisy Die
SW Faux Quilled Leaves
SW Refined Rectangular Frame
MB Butterfly die
Teal Dazzler
Aquamarine and Cobalt Blue Archival Inks
Peacock Feathers DI

Well I'm not sure if this is what is known as a 'happy accident' but I'll take that!!

I hope you are all keeping well and as always thank you for passing through and looking at what I get up to in my spare time......................

it is much appreciated.

I have both the kids and partners coming for Sunday lunch tomorrow and probably the four legged gran-puppy too - can't wait. It is our Sons birthday on Monday, so a bit of a celebration for that too.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, whatever you are doing.

Card for MIL........................

here is a card that I made for the MIL for Mothers Day.....................

like many of you I don't need to make a Mothers Day card, unfortunately I lost my Mum when I was 21years old......................so she has never seen my crafting, my husband or my gorgeous children but I am a big believer that they look over you on a daily basis, so although not here in person I am sure she is around............................

because my MIL cannot see so well these days I try to make textural cards for her and the OH gives her an explanation as to what I have put on the front.........................

Well what a beautiful weekend - I have had loads and loads of washing out on the line and how fab does it smell when you bring it in to iron.....................sad I know but one of my favourite smells!!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, it is back to work for me tomorrow after having a week off - I had to get a weeks holiday in before the end of March so done now - start working longer hours from this week and I always seem to be playing catch up when visiting the blogs so bare with me if I am even longer before I comment!! I will get there, honest.

Another BIG birthday card........................

and no its not the size of the card but another friends 'milestone' birthday......................

again I decided it wasn't necessary to add the age to the front of the card.................

I love this daisy die and it will definitely be making a few more appearances.....................

three stamps from LOTV to make up the sentiment..........................

a corner die that doesn't cut all the way through to the edge, but it can be snipped to make a corner, making it a little more versatile........................

Ingredients used:-

SW Rambling Blossom EF
SW Fern Trio Finishing Touches
Le Crea Daisy Die
TL Collecting Corners
SB Labels Eighteen
Britannia Rose Leaf Die
Little Leaf Sizzlets Die
LOTV Sentiment Stamps
SU Bermuda Bay Ink
Inka Gold Wax in Turquoise
CE Pearls
CE Foundation Card
Paper curls made with slithers of same card

Well my lovely friend liked it - actual words texted were ''aren't you clever'' - now that is maybe a step too far....!!!

the dies do all the hard work - I just cut, stick, colour and stamp..........................and boy do I enjoy it.

Hopefully you have managed to see some sun today - the weather here is a little mixed but overall we can't complain.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Really simple.......................

a card made for a close friend who has just had the 'all clear' after a health scare.................................

a very simple concept as it was made very quickly...........................would it pass as a CAS card?

I am not good at having lots of white space on my cards - I love when I see others who create really 'paired' back cards but not something that I find easy..............................

this is probably the nearest I will get, but was tempted to carry on 'faffing' and only held back as I really didn't have time to make another if I made a mess of it..........................

can you tell that is the voice of experience!!!

I managed to find a really lovely verse that fitted our friendship so well, which is the beauty of making and personalising your own cards I guess...............................I love this crafting lark!!!!!

Ingredients used:-

SW Rambling Blossoms EF
CE Sentiment from the Celebrations Stamp Set
SW Refined Rectangular Frames
X-Cut Butterfly Stamps and matching dies
Cobalt & Aquamarine Archival Inks
Evergreen Bough DI
CE & SU Pearls

I hope everyone is keeping well and having some of the lovely weather that we were fortunate to have today and can also say thank you for the lovely comments on my post 'a little bit messy' I am so chuffed to receive such positive comments from people that I think are the most amazing crafters - I am humbled - Thank You so much!!

Just a quickie.......................

here are the silicone moulds I used to make some of the embellishments on Fridays post.................

I know I mentioned in one of my replies that I thought they were from Ali-Express - well I decided to get them out and check and they are actually Martha Stewart moulds - I know they tend to be a bit more expensive but they are generally better quality and I like all the four moulds that came in this pack...................

here they are (Patricia).....................

I used all these on my heart hangers and although some of the moulds I have bought on the inter-net are fine some are not so good when you try to turn the mould out.......................

Hope this helps and if anyone needs anymore info at all - please leave a comment and I will reply to you...........

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Patricia and Hazel I hope you had a lovely day yesterday and you still have some pennies left!! lol

A little bit messy.........................

I started making these at the beginning of November and got so engrossed in them that I got behind with making my Christmas cards (although nothing new there)..............

I went to a demo day in one of our local craft shops and watched Lindsey Mason painting and covering and waxing faux books etc and took inspiration from her...............she does make some really lovely things...............

she used paint and wax and embossed pieces of card and metal embellishments where as, I have used the paint and wax (mainly wax) and I was interested to see how air-dry clay embellishments would work as when I buy a new mould I always have a practice so had a supply them at the ready.............I made one heart hanger first to see how it turned out................

Lindsay also covered her items with book pages before painting - a technique I have used for other things but not one I  used on these - basically because I forgot too!! but they still turned out okay so it was a bonus that I realised I could miss one of the stages out without it affecting the paint...............

Here's what I'm talking about..........................

'bare' heart hanger - a really poor photo (sorry)!!.....

all that has been added at this stage is bits of ripped embossed card (great for using up all those bits) air dry clay embellishments and Cosmic Shimmer glue to form the dots.......................

painted all over with black acrylic paint..................

the completed hangers after being painted and waxed to highlight the embellishments...............sorry poor photo again (I use my phone)...............

not sure if this is any better!!..........

I think this has to be my favourite..............just love how the key turned out...............

I do apologise for the photo heavy post but I wanted to show you as much as possible so that you can see what has been done and you can have a go (if you fancy)!!

I just love this type of crafting and could do this day-in day-out as you can put them down and leave them and then go back and add a bit more or take a bit off - the problem is knowing when to stop - lol!!

I hope I haven't put you off visiting again............
