One of my new purchases..............................

I am a bit of a sucker for embossing folders and have quite a few in my collection now - but a lot are 5x7 which I don't use so much - so now I tend to try and buy 8x8 or A4 size as I find these more versatile........................

 

I did notice some embossing which I hadn't seen before, when Sue was posting cards showing her new die collections - so I kept my eyes well and truly peeled and lo and behold a new range of emboss folders was launched including the one I had spotted!!!

 

Well her is my first make with said folder...............................

This was made for a friend of our daughters - and whose birthday celebrations we were invited to.

I felt flattered that they wanted a pair of 'fuddy duddies' there with them but we had a really good night - made better by the fact we were able to spend most of the evening outdoors........................

The bottom of the card was scored using the Scor-Pal.

I can show it now...............................

an Anniversary card for the other half...................

This has to be one of the easiest cards that I have ever made (oh alright then - maybe not as easy as when I used to put peel-offs onto cards)!!!........................

I know......................

...................................................those were the days!!

 

 

Anyhow - we have spent a night away at the coast to celebrate (Saturday) and got soaked through twice....................... 

 

but it didn't dampen our spirits and today has more than made up for it - it has been absolutely beautiful and we have done a very, very long walk and I now have a sore sole where I think the sand has rubbed - but 'hey-ho' it is a small price to pay for a fab weekend.

 

I hope you have all have all managed to see some of the sun this weekend.

 



Ingredients for this are barely worth listing but the sentiment stamp is LOTV and I used two stamps to follow on from each other ie I stuck them both to a clear mount and practice stamped until I was happy with how it looked.

Paper is from a 6x6 paper pack which has no name on it - the centre is cut out with SB Hearts Die and I did a bit of faux stitching around the edge to give some definition.

Like I say really simple but I am really pleased with how this turned out and a little different to the Kraft and Black cards I usually make for males.

I am sure that now I have made these three cards I will still be on the back foot at Christmas time - fretting and panicking because I have left making my cards until the last minute....................

who knows - maybe this year will be different!!!!!!!!!

I just love these little creatures - a friend made them for us last Christmas..................we trimmed them up with fairy lights and they looked amazing..........................

anyway I thought I would share them with you as we are on a festive theme and someone commented about the modern art we had in the garden - well here they are in their full glory.

I luv how this 'freebie' emboss folder looks like snow because the dots are a bit random (some might say a bit like me)!!

Mrs Duck - not sure which piece of modern art you are looking at in the photo but if it is the metal one immediately behind the cards - they are candle lanterns.  If it is the wooden one, it is a reindeer that a friend of ours made which is on top on the picnic bench as the other half was/had mown the lawn - hope that answers you question.

A trio of simpleness..........................

and no I don't mean 'me, myself and I'.......................................

I made these cards a couple of months ago when I was on a roll in my craft room -  they are so easy to make and great for a quick card when necessary or for batch making.........................

as you can see if you alter the colours/sentiments/orientation they all look slightly different even though it is the same basic components used...............................

 

 

 

Like I say extremely simple (but hopefully effective).........................

Wedding card...............................

I can now show this because the wedding card is for a couple who got married yesterday.

Hopefully you will be seeing this because it is the first time I have scheduled a post.........................so fingers well and truly crossed.....................

If it does work you will be reading this the day after the wedding which took place in Rhodes and we were fortunate to attend..............................couldn't turn down the opportunity of visiting a place we haven't been too before and also being part of the celebrations for our nephews wedding.....................

 

Card blank embossed with CC Elegance Emboss folder and layered onto soft gold CE card which is then mounted onto an 8x8 card blank.................

 

the stamp is from LOTV - Summer Church which was heat embossed with gold powder and cut out using SW California Basic Frames A in white and soft gold and then matted onto SW California Fancy Frames B.......................

 

paper clay doves coloured (I know it really doesn't show but it is very subtle) with Enchanted Gold Mica powder while still slightly wet.............................champagne silky crush ribbon and corners cut with fancy edge scissors with pearls added................................

Initials cut from Tattered Lace Retro Alphabet and mounted onto SB Scalloped and Plain Heart die cuts..........................

I hope they like it and hopefully I won't have a 'sore' head........................................
