Not a brilliant photo but............................

decided to show it as I left a comment on Hazels blog re:  a card that she had painted after using an embossing folder.............................

I made this for a lovely friend who had a major operation last summer.................

It is very muted but the beauty of that is that it is not so obvious when you go over the lines  (which I did numerous times)!!

like I say not a brilliant photo..........

but when I was taking these piccys it was for my reference only as I never thought I would be capable of having a blog!!

This is such a quick and easy card to make if you need one in a hurry - Hazel I hope you like xx

Well today is really lovely here at the moment bright and sunny skies with just a little breeze - I'm going to get 'togged up' and do a walk via our local post office.  I hope the weather is good where you are today.

Thanks for calling by and leaving lovely comments.

I can show it now......

this was a different kind of card for me.....................

CAS - which is a contradiction in terms for me as simple it was not..............................

it took me several attempts to get the final look, first of all I stamped the tree and it wasn't grounded and looked a bit silly - so second attempt looked okay but then I managed to get a finger print on it!!!......................

this is the third attempt........................

I wasn't brave enough to keep it as CAS as I originally intended as I only stamped the birds once but after looking at it for a while I gave in and ended up stamping them twice!!

so not as CAS as it could have been - but we all have to start somewhere......................

I coloured one of the heart leaves with red stickles and managed to keep it in the shape of a heart with the help of a pokey tool.............................

the other half likes it anyway so I suppose that is what counts!!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you and yours are all keeping warm and safe

Some more cards.......

and I really do mean cards............

regular followers will have seen the card I made for our son for his 30th Birthday - well that proved to become a bit of a theme in 2012-  and so the playing cards had to be used again for my nephews card...........

well with his name it would have been rude not too........

..........................see what I mean!!!!

............the cards were crackled again to give them a bit of an aged look and also to give them a bit more substance...................

................the finished card was A5 size.

I hope you like what you see.

Just a few mentions - first of all hugs to Mrs Duck - I hope you are paddling in the pond real soon.  Second congratulation to Patricia on being one of the lucky people to win one of Sue's amazing creations. Well done.

See you soon

Do I.......don't I.........

this is a card I made for our daughter in 2011........

makes me realise that although my card making has evolved it has not changed that much......not sure if that is a good or bad thing........

........think I play safe - really!!

Now this particular post came about because on reading Patricia (Summerhouse crafts) blog - she has made another beautiful card and is entering it into the HOC challenge.

I have decided that I would like to have a go but don't have time to make a card - so decided to look back through previous cards that I have made and photographed and this is the only one that looks as that it might fit the remit.......

let me know your thoughts Patricia, please.

There is just one tiny thing left then, how to work out how to put it on the HOC page............this time tomorrow I may have pulled all my hair out!!

Thank you for visiting and looking at my offerings and thank you to all those that take to trouble to comment......we all lead such busy lives, so it is much appreciated.

Keep warm and safe and dry.

Just a quickie...................................

thought I would post this to show something a little different.........a little recycling that I did after being inspired from a project class I attended................................

......have you guessed what it is yet?

Okay.......

I will put you out of your misery......................

It is a recycled Pringles carton..................dah-dah!!

Really easy to do but a bit messy!! - I am trying to get into more messy crafting but just don't like clearing up after......................!!!

I now keep my glue sticks in it for my hot glue gun - it is the perfect size, although I had no idea what I was going to do with it when I originally made it.

I used metallic foil which was cut to size and then embossed in a Tim Holtz embossing folder. I then covered it with black acrylic paint......this needless to say was the messy part........it was left to dry off slightly and then buffed up with dry kitchen paper until the desired finish........I stuck it to the carton with Cosmic Shimmer glue..........different I know but hope you like it.
