this was post was going to be completed yesterday but unfortunately I had an argument with some black ice and the ice won - a visit to A&E yesterday tea-time ensued but fortunately nothing broken.....
well and truly winded and an 'egg' on the back of my head which was fortunately protected by a double layered hat otherwise I genuinely think I would have knocked myself out with the force of hitting the ground.....................
anyway hot water bottle and painkillers are the order over the next few days, but I have to say I don't feel as sore as I thought I would bearing in mind how uncomfortable I was last night but maybe that is the painkillers................
anyway here are the photos I took yesterday as I it was my day off work (enforced one today) but will make my hours up on Monday................
nearly up to the top of my boots which are 11'' high!!
The weather today is bright and sunny and things are starting to melt now but there is still so much snow around I think it will take a while.............
Anyway on a brighter note and something for oldie Friday that I learnt about through following Patricia's blog (Summerhouse crafts)..................
a canvas bag that I made at a project day two years ago................
It was held in one of the local schools and I must confess it was the first and only one I have been too and when I saw the first project my heart sank a little as it didn't really appeal to me but I have to say I loved the finish effect...........
The canvas looks as though it has a background print on it in the close up's but it is just a plain cream/beige colour....
the flowers were cut out with a circle sizzix die in different sizes with buttons used for the centres with co-ordinating thread.........
the leaves were stamped (can't remember with which ink) and hand coloured with acrylic paints the butterflies where stamped onto a waxy covered canvas and cut out, the stems of the flowers and some of the leave veins are hand drawn and once it is ironed on the reverse it allows you to wash it without loosing the colours!!!! not tried it so not sure about that..........
Anyway stay safe and warm and take care out there if you have the white stuff.................and if you have ice tracks use them.....................we do but I couldn't find them...........
needless to say the OH found them this morning..............
what is that old saying about the horse and the stable door.....................!!!!

Aww!! Gail what a horrible thing to happen. Sending some gentle (((((hugs))))) in hope they help. Just take it easy, let your darling OH pamper and pander to you.
ReplyDeleteWe just have a dusting of the "white stuff" here. The sun is shining and the sky is blue. Still bright, sunny though freezing cold it's now 4.50pm .... the nights are drawing out thank goodness.
I love your bag, the colours and design of the flowers is stunning.
Have a nice easy weekend

Hi Gail
ReplyDeleteGosh! Poor you! What an awful shock it must have been too.
Take it easy over the weekend chuck.
We were lucky. Had about an inch of snow this morning (which froze. . . . . nasty)
but its all gone now.
Love the bag. Wonderful vibrant colours. I hope that you use it as it would be a shame for it to just be in a drawer.
You take it steady now.

Goodness-glad you are ok after your fall. The bag project looks great.

Gail, oh I know how you felt, I did the same the other week and like you I didn't break anything, but it winded me and I hurt. Take it easy but keep moving to so you don't stiffen up. Love your bag I hope you use it. Hazel x
